PM: Russia to skip Davos forum if Russian businessmen not invited

PALERMO, Italy, Nov 13 (PRIME) -- Russia will not attend the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2019 if Switzerland does not revert its decisions on the participation of Russian businessmen, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Tuesday.

The Financial Times reported earlier citing sources that Russian businessmen Oleg Deripaska, Viktor Vekselberg and VTB Bank CEO Andrei Kostin were denied participation in the regular forum session.

“If these decisions that were made in regard to representatives of the Russian business are not changed, we will have to refuse sending government officials and officials from Russian companies with state participation to the Davos forum, so no one will go there,” Medvedev said.

He said he discussed the situation with Swiss President Alain Berset, who promised to clear the situation.
